No. Meridian is personal whole-genome sequencing for knowledge, ancestry, and wellness. It is not a clinical or diagnostic test and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent anything. It simply gives you your own genomic data and helps you understand it.
Whole-genome sequencing reads essentially all of your DNA, about three billion base pairs, rather than the tiny pre-chosen slice that most DNA kits read. 30x means each position is read about thirty times on average, which is what makes the result reliable. You only ever need to do it once.
Your data is encrypted with a key only you hold, so only you can access it. When you explore your genome, the work happens on your device. After you download your file we delete our copy, and our laboratory partners destroy your biological sample within 30 days of delivery, with a certificate available on request. We never sell your data.
Your genome does not change, but genomic science keeps advancing. Because you own the complete data, we can re-read it over time and tell you when something new can be learned from it, with no new sample and no re-sequencing.
